SINGLE SEATER

After'cancellation of race 2 from the day before due to rain and fog, the actors of the Challenge Single seat met twice on this sunny morning from 8:00 a.m. first, then at 9:55 a.m. Undisputed poleman the day before, Nicolas Cheers also took advantage of his victory in race 1 to start twice in 1st position. Behind him, Eric Trouillet (Graff Racing) monopolized the 2nd places on the grid and saw in his mirrors his 3 teammates swapping positions: Sébastien Page, Jacopo D'Amato and Luis Sanjuan.

Even if the start of the 3rd round of racing was not perfect for Nicolas Prost, he won in the 2 rounds of the day ahead of Eric Trouillet, who took the opportunity to win in the Gentleman Drivers ranking. In the first race of the day, it was Luis Sanjuan who took 1rd place ahead of Page and Kullmann, D'Amato having made a mistake depriving him of the fight for the podium. In the following round, it was David Kullman who made a mistake and after a muscular fight, Sébastien Page took a podium finish ahead of Jacopo D'Amato and Théo Vaucher (Autosport GP), an opportunist following the mayhem on the track. Note that D'Amato was penalized by 3 seconds following his on-track scuffle with Page, but this penalty had no impact on the final result.

 

 

 

208 RACING CUP / RELAY 208

The day also saw the last race round of the 208 Racing Cup take place in the morning, a category having seen one of its rounds the day before stopped due to weather conditions. In the reverse Top 10 game defining the starting grid, it was Franck Bermond who started in pole position ahead of Cédric Delcroix and Joan Caillaut.

But in the race, the main players in the category quickly caught up to engage in a new opus of their on-track battles. If Joan Caillaut was the only one of the 3 men at the top of the grid to maintain the advantage of his starting position by taking 2nd place at the finish, it was indeed Alexandre Finkelstein who won again. His teammate Pierre Monmaneix finished the race in 3rd place in the general classification, which already paints the picture for this season which promises to be exciting.

In Relay 208, it was the Gediracing family crew led by Mickael and Yannick Blanc who won ahead of the #154 driven by Marc Fleurance and Sébastien Gehin, as well as the #274 from Gemo Sport driven by its Team Manager Guillaume Blancardi and Bastien Pasquier.

 

KENNOL GT TOURING-SPRINT

Sunday also allowed competitors in the Kennol GT Touring-Sprint to compete in one last round of racing this weekend. Marc Waechter, winner the day before at the wheel of the Renault RS01 from Team G2 Racing started in pole position ahead of the RS01 from Team AB Sport Auto driven by Bernard Delhez. Maxime Mainguy started in 3rd position on the starting grid.

This time, the Belgian driver from the Gard team was not trapped and signed a new victory after those of the day before. Marc Waechter ranked in 2nd position ahead of Maxime Mainguy, winner of the ranking of the Porsche Cup at the wheel of the Breizh Motorsport car ahead of Olivier Morihain. There was also a big fight in the 308 Cup, where Xavier Fouineau won again. The JSB Compétition resident was ahead of his teammate Florian Briché, while Cyril Andrey gained momentum and took 3rd place in the class. Philippe Romero won again in class 5B, ahead of the two Team Speed ​​Car drivers, Marine Pidoux (Mitjet) and Miguel Garcia (Ginetta).

 

NAPA GT-TOURING ENDURANCE

The big event this Sunday was of course the 4 hours of the NAPA GT-Touring race. Endurance. The #01 Renault RS5 of Team AB Sport Auto, driven by Franck Dezoteux and Stéphane Tribaudini, started from pole position ahead of the Mercedes #83 of Emmanuel Collard and Charles-Henri Samani, and the other RS01 from AB Sport Auto driven by Eric Cayrolle and Franck Thybaud.

After 4 fierce hours of racing in optimal conditions, and through pit stops and strategies, it was the crew of the #01 Renault RS45 from Team AB Sport Auto which won overall as well as in the class. 3A in front of the other crew of the Team led by Dezoteux and Tribaudini, and the Ferrari of Team Visiom driven by Bouvet / Pagny / Hallyday. Victory in the class reserved for Porsche Cups went to the #666 crew of Team ABM, ahead of sister #911 and the Race Carbone team on the #53 of Gerini and Mathieu. Victory in class 3B for VDS Racing Adventures with the #55 of Van Der Straten and Putz, while Team Autosport GT and its Porsche #190 won in class 5B ahead of the Alpine Cup #94 and #72 of the Chazel Technologies Course. Code Racing Development imposes its #11 crew in the UTCR category ahead of #14 from Chazel Technologies Course and #308 from Code Racing Development.

Next meeting for the Ultimate Cup Series competitors: June 25, 26 and 27 in Spain, on the Motorland Aragon circuit!
