WorldRX – First podium for Team Hansen’s Peugeot 208

We had to wait until mid-season to see the first podium of a Peugeot 208 Supercar from the Hansen team, supported by the Lion. Often, Timmy Hansen and Timur Timerzyanov, the two drivers entered by Kenneth Hansen, finished placed, but the Swede's podium finally rewards the efforts of an entire team.

“We've been fast all year and it's just great to be on the podium. I am so happy !
declares the young Hansen, 22 years old. It means a lot to the whole team who worked so hard to achieve this result. I had a difficult time this weekend. In every race I did, I started on the outside but the car was really fast. In the semi-final, I pushed really hard to get to the final but to get on the podium from sixth place on the grid is fantastic. I didn't get off to a very good start but I didn't give up. The car was efficient and fast throughout the weekend! »

Hansen also took advantage of the setbacks of Petter Solberg, who had been in the lead for a long time during the final, but who suffered from a failure of his right rear suspension, forcing him to slow down at the end of the race. The World Championship of Rallycross will stop in Canada on the Trois-Rivières circuit on August 7 and 8.

Find the report of the Mettet round in Belgium, in the 1969 issue of AUTOhebdo, available this evening in digital version, and on newsstands from Wednesday.
