Inaugurated in 1924, the Linas-Montlhéry autodrome was above all a temple of speed in the same way as Monza, with its speed ring coupled with a road circuit. L'Endurance was not abandoned however. As early as 1927, a 24-hour event saw the victory of the British George Duller-Frank Clement, on Bentley. The adventure had no future, just like the 8 Hours of 1934 and the 12 Hours of 1938, the second edition of which was canceled due to the Second World War. The 12 Hours were relaunched in 1948, with Luigi Chinetti imposing his Ferrari before doing it again two years later. After which, the event disappeared from the calendar.
