The 47th edition of the show Rétromobile opened Tuesday January 31 with an evening bringing together beautiful people. In the memory of an enlightened visitor, rarely has the high mass of historic Parisian automobiles brought together so many big names and collector's items.

The Richard Mille stand gives pride of place to Ferrari, with several single-seaters, prototypes and GTs from the Prancing Horse brand. For the occasion, the new main team of the Team en Formula 1, Frédéric Vasseur, was invited by the watchmaker, as wasAlain Prost. The four-time French world champion even signed his F1-91, chassis 130, with which he took a 2nd place at the 1991 Spanish Grand Prix. car, as well as seven other exceptional cars, are on view until Sunday evening at Rétromobile.

Hall 1 of Paris Expo at Porte de Versailles also welcomed a series of illustrious winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. On the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) stand, we were able to listen to anecdotes from legends like Tom Kristensen, Emmanuele Piero, Romain Dumas, Gérard Larrousse, Yannick Dalmas and Henri Pescarolo. All around the imposing trophy imagined for the Centenary of Le Mans (June 10-11) and in front of the reproduction of the Chenard & Walcker, first winner of the Le Mans race in 1923 with Lagache – Léonard.

The Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) also saw the big picture through a presence in three different locations. First of all, the exhibition “ The 24 Hours of Le Mans, when the French shine » (hall 1) pays tribute to the French manufacturers and craftsmen who have distinguished themselves in Sarthe by presenting vehicles which have raced at Le Mans in one of the last 90 editions or are ready to discover the Le Mans track. The scenography is based around 11 legendary vehicles, and allows you to discover models like the Peugeot 9X8, the Matra Simca 660/670 or even theAlpine-Renault A210. Then head to hall 2.2 to see “ The 24 Hours of Le Mans, a laboratory for new technologies ". Technological development has always been the raison d'être of motorsport, with competition pushing manufacturers to increasingly innovate. It also allows them to test the effectiveness of these technologies. In this regard, the 24 Hours of Le Mans holds a special place, because the search for performance is combined with the quest for reliability. Disc brakes, hybrid engines, fog lights, and in the near future hydrogen: many of these innovations have made it possible to gain in competitiveness, but above all to strengthen safety and reduce the environmental footprint. The stand presents four revolutionary vehicles, including a hydrogen-electric prototype from the MissionH24 program.

In addition, the ACO stand, located in Hall 1 (Stand M-035), welcomes a prestigious guest: Chenard & Walcker, winner in 1923 of the first edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Different spaces will be organized around this car: shop, club and heritage. The Trophy specially created by Monnaie de Paris for the Centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will also be there. A unique work, supported by Rolex, main partner of the event. Finally, among the approximately 300 exhibitors announced, there are many sellers of miniatures, old books and cutting-edge documentation that specialists of the genre love.
