When Jurgen Barth, Patrick Peter and Stéphane Ratel created the BPR championship (from their initials. Editor’s note) in 1994, Ferrari is developing the F40LM, a racing version of its legendary supercar. Despite a few victories, its technical base dating from 1987 quickly proved to be overtaken by new cars, including the McLaren Carbon chassis GTR.
