The 50th anniversary of Croix-en-Ternois will be the subject of a unique event organized by HVM Racing while the French Historic GP will take place in April.

HVM Racing presents its 2023 calendar

One of the most prominent organizers of historic races on the French scene, HVM Racing, presented its program of events for the year 2023. This draft calendar must be validated by the Steering Committee of the French Motorsport Federation ( FFSA) but the version of the calendar unveiled this Wednesday, September 28 provides several lessons.

First of all, the events of the French Historic Circuit Championship (Historic Tour) had already been determined since the end of August. The Historic Tour 2023 returns to a five-round format. The Dijon Prenois circuit will kick off at the beginning of May, while the Val de Vienne circuit will host the epilogue in October. In the meantime, the second stage will take place on the Albi circuit, to which HVM Racing is keen to provide its support. That of Nogaro has agreed to erase itself from the calendar for its benefit, knowing that it will appear there safely in 2024. The Auvergne track of Charade returns to the program.

Then, the Historic French Grand Prix is ​​brought forward until the Easter weekend, from Friday April 7 to Sunday April 9. The gathering celebrating the history of Formula 1 and Single seat will still take place at the Paul-Ricard circuit (Var). “This new edition will extend the presence of F1 on the Paul Ricard circuit, explains Laurent Vallery-Masson, HVM Racing Director. We are going to strengthen the entertainment aspect of the event and above all, deploy special efforts in favor of spectators. We want the public to truly become an actor in the French Historic GP.”

Furthermore, the Dijon Motors Cup will take place from October 6 to 8, 2023, but it is above all in Croix-en-Ternois that a great novelty will be held from September 8 to 10, 2023, with the aim of celebrating the 50 years of the track located in Pas-de-Calais.A celebration of the history of the place, and more generalalso sports mechanical, , promising se will decline en competitions, some in a very unique format, but also in parades, car and motorcycle club runs, F1 demonstrations and F2 et other multiple animations.

“The idea is to take advantage of this anniversary to immerse ourselves in the world of the 70s/80s in the presence of as many cars, drivers and celebrities of the time as possible. Let's not forget that certain F1 teams came to prepare for the Monaco GP with us! It will be a great celebration to which we wish to involve a large number of spectators", explains Patrick D'Aubreby, Director and owner of the Croix-en-Ternois circuit since 1999, "If, as I hope, we have the permit to development on this date, it will also be an opportunity for us to present and formalize the future expansion work on the circuit.

“Organizing a meeting in Croix-en-Ternois will be a first for HVM Racing and we are delighted,” underlines Laurent Vallery-Masson (Director of HVM Racing), “This anniversary will be a sort of bridge between the past and the future of the circuit. We will remember its history while opening ourselves to a new era. In addition to the numerous runs in which the public will have the opportunity to take part, there will also be a lot of spectacle on the competition side, with confrontations in the original format in Formula Ford, the presence of the Lotus Trophy and other fields, in particular GT/saloons from before 1981 and single-seaters from England. Many personalities who have marked the history of the circuit will be there”
