The former F1 driver will be at the start of the “Endurance 6 Hours V de V du GPFH” race next April.

Jean Alesi returns to service for the Historic French Grand Prix

The Historic French Grand Prix will welcome one of the most historic drivers in French motorsport. On the Castellet side on April 7 and 8, it is Jean Alesi, 201st Grand Prix of Formula 1 on the counter, who will put the suit back on for the duration of a race. In the Var next April, the new president of Paul-Ricard will be behind the wheel of a 26 Lotus Elan 1965R during the race “Endurance 6 Hours V of V of the GPFH” during the 5e edition of the French Historic Grand Prix. He will notably team up with his friend Philippe Gache, also a former driver and credited with 10 starts in the 24 Hours of Le Mans but also participations in the Dakar and one in the Indy 500 in 1992. In addition, father and son, Jean-Pierre and Stéphane Richelmi, will join Jean Alesi and Philippe Gache thus completing the crew of this Lotus Elan 26R which will compete a plateau in the Var.

Beautiful mechanics

Parmi les concurrentes de la même période historique, on peut citer la Ford GT40 de l’écurie Hyracing confiée à l’équipage franco-belge Olivier Muytjens/Brice Pineau/Kurt Dujardyn/Jacques Castelein ; la Jaguar Type E engagée par Jean-Paul Petit, la Porsche 911 2.0 de l’équipe WKMR pour le trio père et fils composé de Stéphane, Mathieu et Baptiste Guyot-Sionnest ; ou encore la TVR Griffith 200 du Team V de V pilotée par Eric Van de Vyver, à l’origine des courses d’endurance réservées aux véhicules historiques de compétition, lequel devrait faire équipe avec l’ancien numéro 5 mondial de tennis, Henri Leconte, participant de la première heure aux évènements orchestrés par V de V Sports.
