Canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus, the Circuit des Remparts d'Angoulême (Charente) returns with great fanfare this Sunday September 19 with no less than ten grids.
Particularité de l’événement, les compétitions sont réservées à la seule journée du dimanche. Cinq catégories seront âprement disputés : le Tourisme avec la présence de Jean-Claude Andruet à bord d’une petite Marcos Mini de 1966 ainsi que le pilote M-Sport Ford in WRC Adrien fourmaux, the Bugatti with the peloton of Bugatti 35s, 37s and 51s from the interwar period, the curious pre-war vehicles and its cohort of disappeared manufacturers and finally the GT and Touring pre and post 1965.
In addition to these races, there are four demonstration stages, where the time will only have a symbolic value. It is with this in mind that the organizers are allowing the return of pre-war motorcycles for the first time since 2009, cars from before the First World War, sports cars from the 1950s or even Supertourism / Production. This last category constitutes a novelty, already planned for 2020. We will find there, for example, a Peugeot 505 ex-Jean-Pierre Beltoise or a Citroën AX ex-Jean-Pierre Jarier.
