Rally Codasur 1981

Son of a farmer, the future director of Citroën Sport was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth and his accession to professionalism was long, passing through hill climbs and the circuit before stabilizing in rally, thanks to Renault Sport. Despite his title of champion of France obtained in 1977 with theAlpine A310 V6, Fréquelin did not see a great future with the Losange and accepted Talbot's proposal in 1980. Associated with Jean Todt, he participated in the development of the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus, which would reach maturity in 1981. Not without success since after finishing 2nd in Monte-Carlo, 6th in Portugal, 2nd in Corsica and 4th in Acropolis, Talbot and Fréquelin are leading the two championships.
