In 2022, SRO Motorsports Group will celebrate its 30th anniversary. What could be better than the Toboggan des Ardennes to celebrate this anniversary, with the arrival of the reference in historic GT, Peter Auto?
Indeed, the Spa-Francorchamps circuit (Belgium) will welcome from July 28 to 31 the 24 Hours of Spa, round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) but also two one-hour races dedicated to former glories, the GT Anniversary 2022.
This meeting is natural, since Stéphane Ratel (SRO) and Patrick Peter (Peter Auto) joined forces in August 1993 by launching a Grand Touring race at Paul-Ricard (Var). But what made the two men part of the GT legend was the BPR adventure instigated with the help of Jürgen Barth in March 1994.
Certainly, the BPR only lasted three seasons, before transforming into FIA GT, but this period remained anchored in the hearts of enthusiasts for the exceptional cars it hosted, such as the McLaren F1 GTR, the Ferrari F40 LM or other Venturi 400. As for the FIA GT, the fights between Porsche 911 GT1 and Mercedes CLK GTR GT1 have rejuvenated theEndurance GT, and gave the basis to the various GT3 championships currently organized around the world by SRO.
In order to celebrate this passage in 30 years, Stéphane Ratel called on his friend Patrick Peter to bring together everything beautiful that was done in GT between 1992 and 2010. It is impossible to name all the models, but the poster will make you dream, there is no doubt ! The public will also be able to get up close to these legendary models during the traditional parade through the streets of Spa.
