An icon of rally will soon make his return to the stage. The British preparer MST Cars, specializing in "restomod" (modernizing an old car to give it the latest technologies) of Ford Escort Mk1 and Mk2, will revive the Metro 6R4, one of the flagship cars of the Group B era in world rally championship.
Far from being a simple rebirth, this new Metro 6R4 will feature a bespoke carbon fiber body and a modern 6L V3,0 engine, which is expected to produce between 350 hp to 450 hp. It will also have all-wheel drive and a sequential gearbox.
Little information has been given regarding the other technical specifications of the Metro 6R4 300st century version. However, two specifications should be available: a richer, more refined road version and a stripped-down track version. The price should be around 000 pounds sterling (340 euros), with production of around 000 cars per year.
If the project is still in progress, MST Cars reveals on its Facebook post that those most interested must “register their interest for 2024”, implying that deliveries could begin next year.
