24 Hours of Le Mans – H+8: The #51 Ferrari in the gravel, the #7 Toyota retires, Peugeot in the lead!

• Spectacular turn of events ! Alessandro Pier Guidi (Ferrari) est resté bloqué dans les graviers au niveau de la chicane Daytona dans les Hunaudières. L’Italien a été perturbé par une Glickenhaus et une Porsche du GTE AM qui se sont touché au freinage et a perdu le contrôle de son Hypercar en freinant juste derrière. Pier Guidi a perdu plusieurs minutes dans l’incident.
• Quelques instants plus tard, un carambolage a eu lieu dans les Esses du Tertre Rouge. Alors qu’une Slow Zone se mettait en place, plusieurs voitures ont freiné, dont la Toyota n ° 7 of Kamui Kobayashi. The Japanese was hit from behind by the Ferrari 488 GTE of Louis Prette (n°66, retirement), which took off partly on the Oreca of Giedo van der Garde (Graff Racing). L'Alpine No. 35 by Memo Rojas was also hit and returned to the pits.
• Kamui Kobayashi is stopped at the side of the circuit and has not been able to restart his Toyota for around ten minutes. The Japanese got out of his car, it was abandoned!
• All this commotion is the business of the Peugeot 9X8 n°94. Driven by Nico Müller, the car without a rear wing now occupies 1st place overall with a 1 minute margin over the Ferrari 499P of Nicklas Nielsen.
