As part of the partnership between theIMSA and the ACO, a team entered in the American GTP championship must be invited to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in the Hypercar class. In 2023, this team will be Action Express Racing. The Denver-based team, which will operate a Cadillac LMDh this season, received an invitation from the ACO to take part in the Centenary of the Sarthe event. Good news for the team and the American manufacturer, which hopes to arrive in force for its return to Le Mans.
The sporting regulations for the 24 2023 Hours of Le Mans stipulate that three invitations are distributed following the 2022 IMSA season. The No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac will be shared between Pipo Derani and Alexander Sims in IMSA, and with Jack Aitken at Daytona. The British driver could therefore find the LMDh on the double clock at La Sarthe to complete the American crew.

At Le Mans, Cadillac will arrive with (at least) two cars since Chip Ganassi Racing, entered in WEC, will also be present with Richard Westbrook, Alex Lynn and Earl Bamber.
Action Express' Cadillac will join IMSA's two other automatic guests, with John Farano bringing his own Tower Motorsports team to Le Mans in LM P2 for the first time, while Ryan Hardwick has already confirmed he will join Proton Compétition via his automatic invitation to GT.
There are still three invitations to be awarded in the Asian Le Mans Series, which will be determined following the results in the Asian championship next February. The 1st in LMP2, the 1st in LMP3 and the 1st in GT3 will automatically be invited to the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
