Death of Jean-Pierre Jaussaud, double winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans

One month before the publication of 24 Hours of Le Mans, a big name in French motorsport is leaving us. Jean-Pierre Jaussaud died at the age of 84. He knew the Sarthoise event particularly well since he participated in 13 editions between 1966 and 1983, including two victories in 1978 with Didier Pironi on a Renault Alpine and in 1980 with Jean Pierre Rondeau at the wheel of a Rondeau M379.

During his career, the Frenchman also participated in the Formula 3 but also at the Formula 2 before going to the World Touring Car Championship and then the Super Touring Car Championship, where he drove under the colors of Matra and Brabham.

In 1980, he was a test pilot in F1 for Renault. Two years later, the Norman also took part in the Paris-Dakar. AUTOhebdo sends its sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Jean-Pierre Jaussaud.
