A list of 62 cars was revealed this Monday, February 27 for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2023. In addition to these registrants, 10 crews make up the reserve list. Three of them appear in LM P2 Pro-Am, and 7 others in LMGTE Am. Two names particularly attract attention: Juan Pablo Montoya and Timo Glock.

The Colombian is thus present at DragonSpeed USA in LM P2 Pro-Am, in the company of his son Sebastian and the Swede Henrik Hedman, that is to say the same crew which will participate in the European Le Mans Series season. As for Timo Glock, his name is associated with the Porsche 911 RSR – 19 n°46 of Team Project 1.

As reservists, the two former pilots of Formula 1 can hope to join the starting grid for the Centenary edition in the event of a crew withdrawing from the Le Mans event.

The last case of a replacement dates from 2022. The Hardpoint Racing team which was to field Rob Ferriol, Adrien de Leener and Katherine Legge had finally given up its invitation due to commercial operations. It was ultimately the Absolute Racing team, present in the list of reserves in the first place, which had recovered the place left vacant.
