LM P2
Nielsen Racing n°24: R. Sales / M. Bell / B. Hanley
The Oreca 07-Gibson n°24 of Nielsen Racing, winner of the Asian Le Mans Series 2022, has chosen a decoration inspired by the Mexican origins of its driver Rodrigo Sales. “The theme is that of the Day of the Dead, a very important celebration in Mexico, explains the person concerned. It also happens to fall on my birthday. It is therefore a day to which I am particularly attached. A day dedicated to remembrance, where we think of our ancestors, of family members who are no longer in this world. I was very close to my grandparents: it’s also a bit of a way of paying tribute to them because I know they would be extremely happy to see me race at Le Mans. It’s about family, about Mexico, about things that touch me personally.” The British team is the specialist in colorful liveries, after the one seen in ALMS.

At Panis Racing, for their 7th participation in the Le Mans event, the livery of the Oreca 07 #65 has just been revealed. “ The inspiration for this car comes from a simple idea: the 24 Hours of Le Mans race is never linear and is always punctuated by twists and turns. The decor reflects this reactivity with this electric and instantaneous feeling. But also with a message behind the triangle representing teamwork, performance and passion», explains Benjamin Louis, the designer responsible for the livery. Engaged in LM P2, the French team remains on two consecutive podiums this year and intends to reach the highest step of the podium in its category. This task will be entrusted to the Dutchman Job Van Uitert and the two Frenchmen, Nico Jamin and Julien Canal.
