The Hyperpole of the GTE Pro category came down to Corvette's undivided domination. In Sarthe, the American brand secured the first row of the starting grid for the 90th of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In front of Porsche, le constructeur américain n’a pas cédé et a pris le dessus sur les machines allemandes grâce à Nick Tandy, poleman sur la N°64, et Antonio Garcia, sur la N°63.
« What a fantastic day and what a car, savored Nick Tandy during the celebrations. Let's hope to keep these two yellow Corvettes in the lead for 24 hours. Everything went well on the track, the car was fantastic. These GTEs are so much fun to drive when they're on new tires and low on gas on a track like this... It's a privilege.
That's pole position for @NickTandyR and a 1-2 start for #Corvette in GTE Pro for # LeMans24 w/ @AntonioGarcia_3 in P2! Think this didn't mean a lot?? #C8R #Z06 @TeamChevy @ 24hoursoflemans @FIAWEC pic.twitter.com/Ra5oS9hCnc

The tests went very well. Corvette knows how to approach and compete in these kinds of events. It's been a long time since Corvette was on the top step of the podium at Le Mans. The plan is always the same. It's about staying clean, staying fast and having a good race. But the ultimate goal is always to stay on the track and be first on Sunday afternoon.” It seems so simple, and yet.
It remains to be seen what the ACO and the FIA will decide regarding the BoP of the GTE Pro since the Ferrari finished more than 1″5 this Thursday during the Hyperpole! To be continued…
An incredible sight 😍
