Philippe Cimadomo banned from starting the 24 Hours of Le Mans

This is a situation that the TDS Racing X Vaillante would have done well with just over 24 hours before the big start. Made a mistake after hitting WRT No. 31 while trying to overtake a GT in the Esses Porsche during EL3, Philippe Cimadomo, bronze driver of the Hérault team contingent, was prohibited from starting the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2022.

« The Stewards of the 24 Hours of Le Mans received a report from the Race Director in accordance with article 10.1.1 of the Specific Regulations for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, concerning the driver Philippe Cimadomo, we can read in the official document. The driver caused an accident in FP1 and almost caused an accident also in FP1 at the pit entrance. Additionally, he lost control during FP3 and suffered a significant crash."
Despite his defense explaining that he has already “ already raced in LMP2 in ELMS without incident, and that the incidents during FP11 and FP3 represented momentary failures » and gained experience during the test sessions, Philippe Cimadomo did not receive the green light from the commissioners. “ On the recommendation of the race director, for the driver's own safety and that of others, the stewards prohibit Philippe Cimadomo from participating in the remainder of the competition, under article 11.9.3.k. of the International Sporting Code »
Despite this ban, TDS Racing of the International Sporting Code. 12.3.3.b. Competitors are reminded that they have the right to appeal certain decisions of the Stewards, in accordance with article 12.3.3 of the Sporting Regulations for the 16.1.6 24 Hours of Le Mans, article 2022 of the International Sporting Code of the FIA and Articles 15.1.5 and 9.1.1 of the FIA Judicial and Disciplinary Regulations, within the applicable deadlines.
