Which teams (already) have their entry ticket for the 24 2023 Hours of Le Mans?

Thanks to the invitation system, several teams already have a place for the Centenary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 2023. At the end of the last round of the Asian Le Mans Series, all invitations are now known !

Which teams (already) have their entry ticket for the 24 2023 Hours of Le Mans?

If the Centenary edition of 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled for June 10 and 11, 2023, several teams have already obtained an invitation. For the Le Mans event, 13 invitations were available and 10 of them have already been taken, either through their results during the 2022 season in the European Le Mans Series or in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, or via the partnership between theIMSA and the ACO. Here are the 13 teams that already have their entry ticket for the Centenary of the Sarthe double clock tower.

Hypercar: 

– Action Express Racing (Cadillac): Invitation thanks to the partnership between the ACO and IMSA

As part of the partnership between IMSA and the ACO, a team entered in the American GTP championship must be invited to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in the Hypercar class. In 2023, this team will be Action Express Racing. The Denver-based team, which will operate a Cadillac LMDh this season, received an invitation from the ACO to take part in the Centenary of the Sarthe event.

LM P2: 

– Prema Racing: champion team of the European Le Mans Series in 2022 (LM P2 category)

– Panis Racing: vice-champion team in the European Le Mans Series in 2022 (LM P2 category)

– COOL Racing: champion team of the European Le Mans Series in 2022 (LM P3 category)

– DKR Engineering: champion team of the Asian Le Mans Series in 2023 (LM P2 category)

– Graff Racing: champion team of the Asian Le Mans Series in 2023 (LM P3 category)

– Tower Motorsports: Invitation thanks to the partnership between the ACO and IMSA (John Farano, owner of the Tower Motorsports team, was awarded the Jim Trueman Award, intended for drivers who have built a career outside of racing, giving him an invitation automatic at Le Mans.)

GTE-Am: 

– Proton Competition: champion team of the European Le Mans Series in 2022 (LMGTE-Am category)

– Kessel Racing: vice-champion team in the European Le Mans Series in 2022 (LMGTE-Am category)

–Iron Lynx: team finished 3rd in the European Le Mans Series in 2022 (LMGTE-Am category)

– GMB Motorsport: Michelin Le Mans Cup champion team in 2022 (GT3 category)

–Walkenhorst Motorsport : champion team of the Asian Le Mans Series in 2023 (GT3 category)

– Wright Motorsports: Invitation thanks to the partnership between the ACO and IMSA (Ryan Hardwick, who came 2nd in the IMSA championship in the GTD category with the Wright Motorsports team, was awarded the Bob Akin Prize, intended for the best GT driver competing according to the same parameters as those of drivers eligible for the Jim Trueman Award.)

Let's also not forget the commitment of the Hendrick Motorsports team with the Garage 56 project, which will operate in Sarthe... a Nascar ! A Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 more precisely, meeting the new Nascar Next Gen regulations and which will be specifically prepared for the Centennial race. 

In addition to the invitations and Garage 56, we will find at Le Mans all teams entered in the Endurance World Championship (WEC), with 13 Hypercars, 11 LM P2s and 14 GTE-Ams.
