4H of Barcelona – Qualifying: Nicolas Jamin offers pole to Panis Racing

Nicolas Jamin took pole position for the 4H of Barcelona for Panis Racing ahead of Yifei Ye (COOL Racing) and Jack Aitken (Racing Team Turkey).

The fourth round of the European season Le Mans Series takes place this weekend in Spain, with the 4 Hours of Barcelona.

Dominant during the two Free Practice sessions, Paul-Loup Chatin (IDEC Sport) was the favorite for this qualifying session on the Catalan track. Finally, it was another Frenchman who took pole position with Nicolas Jamin in 1:34.802. The Panis Racing driver beat Yifei Ye (COOL Racing) by just 0.097 seconds in the very last moments. Jack Aitken took third place for Racing Team Turkey in 1:34.947 (1st LM P2 Pro-Am).

In LM P3, the best time went to the young Dane Malthe Jakobsen. The driver of the COOL Racing No. 17 dominated his opponents in 1:40.112. Nico Pino (Inter Europol Competition no. 13) and Bailey Voisin (United Autosports no. 2) took 2nd and 3rd places, respectively 0.666 seconds and 0.893 seconds behind.

On the GT side, Ahmad al Harthy dominated the session from start to finish. L’Omanais a signé sa deuxième pole position de la saison après celle décrochée à Imola. Avec un tour en 1:45.692, il a devancé la Belge Sarah Bovy (Iron Dames) de 0.346 seconde. Poleman à Monza, Christian Ried a complété le podium à 0.411 seconde avec la Porsche 911 RSR – 19 n°77 de Proton Competition.
