Nicolas Lapierre set the best time on the first day of ELMS testing at the Paul-Ricard circuit at the wheel of the No. 07 Dragonspeed Oreca 21.

Dragonspeed best time after second session

The second session of the first day of official testing of theELMS at Paul-Ricard (Var) ended with a best time signed by Nicolas lapierre. At the wheel of the No. 07 Oreca 21, the Dragonspeed resident set a lap of the Castellet circuit in 1’41”769.

The double winner of the LMP2 category at 24 Hours of Le Mans relegated his closest pursuer, Paul Lafargue, to more than three tenths at the wheel of the No. 07 Oreca 28 from Idec Sport Racing. Jean-Éric Vergne followed a few thousandths behind in the first G-Drive Racing LMP2, not far from the second entrusted to Enzo Guibbert.

For his debut in the premier category of the European ChampionshipEndurance, Duqueine Engineering set the sixth fastest time with Nicolas Jamin who finished six tenths behind the reference by finishing behind the No. 07 Oreca 33 of TDS Racing driven by Matthieu Vaxivière.

United Autosports took the first Ligier JSP217 to seventh place with Philip Hanson finishing more than seven tenths behind the best time. The Dallara P217s were generally the furthest behind, the first Italian LMP2 only taking 11th place with Anders Fjordbach in the No. 49 of High Class Racing.

In LMP3, it was ultimately the Norma M 30 which was the fastest in the category with a lap completed in 1'51''819 by Alexander Toril in the no.8 DKR Engineering.

In GTE, the Porsche 911 RSR n°88 de Proton Competition est restée la plus rapide avec un temps de 1’54’’628 signé par Gianluca Roda. En revanche, la voiture soeur n°77 de Ried-Camathias-Olsen-Lieb n’a pu boucler que huit tours avant que la voiture ne soit endommagée par une sortie de piste au virage n°3.
