ELMS / Le Mans – Jota Sport recruits Giedo van der Garde

Jota Sport has confirmed the presence of Giedo van der Garde for its 2016 program in ELMS and 24 Hours of Le Mans June 18 and 19. The Dutchman will take his first steps in Endurance by competing in the Silverstone event on April 16 at the wheel of the Gibson 015S-Nissan which he will share with Simon Dolan.

In preparation for the Le Mans event, the former Caterham driver F1 Team which has 13 Grand Prix starts will compete in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on May 7 where Jake Dennis will complete the crew.

“I played at the highest level of motorsport, but I didn’t have a real chance of winning races with Caterham.”, commented Giedo van der Garde. “I am again at a high level with Jota with whom I will be able to aim for victory. Winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans is no longer a dream but a goal. »

Jota Sport will also have its first full season in WEC by entering an Oreca 05 in LMP2. The crew has not yet been confirmed.
