ELMS – Signatech Alpine for a double?

Four hours for two crowns. The European final Le Mans Series, which will take place this weekend on the legendary Portuguese track of Estoril, will offer a dream poster, putting the two Drivers and Teams titles at stake, with total suspense.

Among the drivers, if there are ten of them able to run for the 2014 coronation, the residents of Signatech Alpine Nelson Panciatici, Oliver Webb and Paul-Loup Chatin are best placed in the championship with ten points ahead of their JOTA Sport rivals, Filipe Albuquerque, Harry Tincknell and Simon Dolan. A victory or a second place would automatically ensure a second double for the French team after the 2013 triumph.

But the Newblood by Morand Racing, with the Klien duo? Hirsch still in contention for the title and who will be supported by former driver Signatech Alpine, the Frenchman Pierre Ragues, is coming off a victory at Paul Ricard on September 14 and intends to play his card to the fullest, just like the trio from Race Performance Franck Mailleux? Michel Frey and Patrick Niederhauser, recruited for the occasion. If in GTE, the Ferrari 458 Italia from Cameron – Griffin (assisted by Michele Rugolo) from the AF Corse team has all the cards in hand to score a fourth victory in five rounds and secure the title, in GTC, it is another 458 Italia, that of SMP Racing which could win the laurels, the trio Ladygin – Beretta – Markozov having 18,5 points ahead of the Formula Racing duo composed of Johnny Laursen and Mikkel Mac.

The first free practice sessions will begin on Saturday morning, with the start of the race being given at 14:30 p.m. French time on Sunday.
