Idec Sport winner and title after a duel with G-Drive Racing at Portimao

The Idec Sport team won the title after the suspense in European Le Mans Series (ELMS), Sunday October 27. On the hilly track of Portimao (Portugal), the Oreca 07 driven by Memo Rojas, Paul-Loup Chatin and Paul Lafargue, defeated the Aurus 01 of G-Drive Racing.

This one, driven by Jean-Éric Vergne, Roman Rusinov and Job van Uitert, engaged in an intense duel for the victory of this 2019 final. Unfortunately for the title holders, the Dutch rookie made a driving error by harpooning the French rivals at the end of the race.

Penalized by passing through the pits (drive-through), Job van Uitert left the wheel to Jean-Éric Vergne too far from the podium to hope to keep the crown. For Idec Sport, this is the second victory acquired this season, a few months after the performance achieved at the 4 Hours of Silverstone.

In GTE, victory went to Luzich Racing and the Ferrari 488 shared between Alessandro Pier Guidi, Nicklas Nielsen and Fabien Lavergne.

More information to come.
