The complete 2013 calendar for the European Le Mans Series

The organizers of the European Le Mans Series wanted to react to the difficulties experienced this season to complete the Championship. The next season will therefore be contested in support races for several disciplines, notably the World Series by Renault who will share the tracks of Red Bull Ring mid-July before returning to the Losange at Hungaroring on September 13 and 14 and at Paul Ricard on the 27 and 28 of the same month. The start of the season will take place alongside the 6 Hours of Silverstone on April 12 and 13 before the discipline joins the GT Tour at Imola on May 17 and 18. Free practice will take place on Friday before qualifying and the race take over the next day. Each event will have a three-hour format.

“The ACO will be involved in the organization of this European championship, which plays an important role on the international scene.Endurance », assures Pierre Fillon, President of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest. “The ACO wishes to guarantee the future of this series, considered a pillar of our discipline, by entrusting the organization of this competition to the company Le Mans Endurance Management (LMEM) from next season. The ACO will grant invitations to eligible teams for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but also for the 24 Hours of Le Mans Test Day next June. »

“Since the ACO announced in August that LMEM would organize the European Le Mans Series in 2013, we have worked diligently to try to develop a calendar that would attract as many teams and drivers as possible and meet expectations. », adds Gérard Neveu, Managing Director of Le Mans Endurance Management. “All five circuits are both prestigious and premier. The two-day format with three-hour races was created to reduce costs. All rounds will take place in partnership with leading series, which will result in cost sharing for the organizers in terms of promotion, entertainment, TV production and everything else necessary to make the show a success. ?an event. For the first time, we will be able to offer motorsport enthusiasts endurance races and sprint races in the same weekend. The racing calendar promises to be very impressive and should arouse enthusiasm. Many of the staff involved in the organization of the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship will also work for it?ELMS, which constitutes a guarantee of coherence and stability for the organization of the ELMS. »

Registrations for the 2013 season will be open from December 12 until mid-January.
