Will the rain come to this 89th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans ? This is one of the many uncertainties just a few hours before the big start and that everyone is watching very closely. But what do the latest forecasts say?
Official service of meteorology and climatology in France, Météo-France speaks of “ risk of thunderstorms » between 15 p.m. and 17 p.m. this Saturday. As a reminder, the start is scheduled for 16:00 p.m. and if the sky were to drop a few drops the teams' plans could be reviewed before the start of the event.
The first hours of racing could then take place on wet asphalt. In its bulletin of the day, Météo-France indeed mentions some “ rare showers » from 18:00 p.m. until around midnight with 70% overcast skies. All with a wind that could blow up to 15 km/h throughout the evening according to the data collected.
At the moment, there is no major concern since the sun is shining during this first part of the day at Le Mans. It remains to be seen how the elements will evolve, but there is no doubt that the teams are keeping a very close eye on the radars and the sky.
Regarding Sunday, it should be relatively calm with clearings from sunrise and the mercury rising to 21°C.
