Following the measures taken by international sporting committees such as the FIA following the outbreak of war in Ukraine by Russia, competitors expected to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2022 (June 11-12) as the Russian team G-Drive have announced their withdrawal from the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

The team led by Roman Rusinov in LM P2 having preferred to cancel its participation, this leaves at least one free place to fill, without counting any Russian drivers not changing their sporting license. The selection committee for the Le Mans double clock tower has therefore decided to open registration files for an additional 48 hours, i.e. from 15 p.m. on Monday March 7 until 15 p.m. on Wednesday March 9.
