48 thousandths of a second. The first round of the BMW GT Sim Cup, a new sim racing competition, could not have had a tighter outcome. In the race reserved for BMW GTEs, Team RedLine largely dominated the event to claim a double. The duo Gianni Vecchio and Jonas Wallmeier (Redline blue) took victory just ahead of Daniel Juncadella and Max Verstappe (Redline orange).
The Dutchman, who started in third position, led a large part of his relay. After the driver change, Wallmeier showed his talent to move up and overtake Juncadella, who joined Redline last week. The Spaniard had not said his last word.
He regained the lead in the last quarter of an hour until a mistake at the bus stop on the last lap, which allowed his opponent to take control definitively.
The fight for the podium was also close and the team of Romain Grosjean R8G misses the box by a few thousandths. The crew Scott Andrews and Maarten Van Loozenoord finished fourth.
