Thrustmaster T150 with 2 pedal crankset. approx. 200€ (PC, PS4, PS3)
This steering wheel is an excellent compromise for beginners, but also for more experienced pilots. On the other hand, it is impossible to change the wheel, and at one point or another, the crankset will have to be replaced.
Most :
Good driving sensations
Attaches easily to a desk
Accepts all brand cranksets
Cons:
Impossible to change the wheel (28 cm)
Original pedal board really not great
All plastic
Where to buy it: thrustmaster.com, Fnac, Micromania, certain supermarkets
Frame
RaceRoom Game Seat RR3055. approx. 330€ (image 2)
If you really want a bucket, the RaceRoom is a good compromise on a low budget. On the other hand, you should not be too demanding.
Most :
No central bar
Not bulky (folding backrest)
Cons:
Not comfortable
Does not support large cranksets
Very few adjustments possible
Where to buy it: raceroomstore.com
The alternative
Playseat Evolution. approx. 330€
Much more comfortable and better finished than the RaceRoom, the Playseat was nevertheless poorly thought out. Indeed, this seat has a central bar to hold the steering wheel. So, forget the heel/toe and get used to the idea that you won't be able to brake with your right foot. So it’s a choice…
Most :
Comfortable and in Alcantara
Joli
Not bulky
Cons:
The central bar
Does not support large cranksets
Very few adjustments possible
Where to buy it: playseatstore.com, Fnac
