Esport – Sage Karam winner of the iRacing Challenge

Sage Karam dominated the proceedings on Saturday evening during the American Red Cross Grand Prix, the iRacing Challenge event of theIndycar organized on the Watkins Glen route (New York). The Dreyer & Reinbold Racing resident held the lead on 43 of the 45 laps of the race and won with more than 3 seconds ahead of Felix Rosenqvist (Chip Ganassi Racing).

“It was quite intense at the end, commented the 2013 Indy Lights champion. It was good to offer something to the fans. It's the only sport that can work right now. I now hope that we can do the same when the competition resumes. »

Sage Karam had plenty of experience in iRacing with 533 starts and 165 victories under his belt.

The wildcards defended themselves brilliantly. Scott McLaughlin (Team Penske) finished just off the podium between Will Power (Team Penske) and Oliver Askew (Arrow McLaren). Jimmie Johnson (Jimmie Johnson Racing) placed 16th after being caught in a first-lap crash involving Alexander Red (Autonation).

simon pagenaud (Team Penske) was not unworthy by taking 6th position in front of his teammate Josef Newgarden. On the other hand, Sébastien Bourdais (Tresiba) gave up. James Hinchcliffe (Genesys) was the only one missing at the start.
