Guerrieri beats simracing bigwigs in Esports WTCR

Competitors in the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) are champing at the bit. While waiting to get back on the track, at least for private tests, some find themselves in online competitions such as the Esports WTCR.

The fourth round of the championship contested on the PC Race Room simulation saw the victory of one of them, under the noses of the simracing specialists, Monday May 18. Starting from pole in reverse grid, Esteban Guerrieri (Honda) won against the representative Williams Esports Jakub Brzezinski on the Sepang circuit (Malaysia).

This is the first time that a “pro” has defeated gamers in this competition. “It’s a small gift for the Münnich Motorsport team and for Honda, after the title that we missed precisely on this same track last year, explained the Argentinian.

It's of course different, there's not the same flavor, but all my investment, the spirit of the fight, it's not virtual. It was really nice! »
