Guerrieri and Tassi first winners of Esports WTCR Pre-Season

The first round of the Esports WTCR Pre-Season was dominated by Honda. Aboard their Civic Type-R, Esteban Guerrieri then Attila Tassi won in front of the other professional drivers, gathered on the PC video game RaceRoom on the Salzburgring circuit.

However, the fastest man in testing was Frenchman Yann Ehrlacher. But his Lynk & Co hit Mikel Azcona's Cupra at the start of the first race, leaving the field open to the Argentinian, outgoing vice-champion of the World Touring Car Cup.

“I still had to attack because Mato (Homola) was behind me and he was putting pressure on me”, explains the one who finished second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual with ByKolles a few hours before. 

“In Race 2, continues Attila Tassi, I got off to a good start and my goal was not to give my rivals my chance. Then Mikel (Azcona) caught up with me and I tried to save my tires for the last few laps. We had a tough fight but I finished in front of him. »

In the championship, Esteban Guerrieri is in the lead thanks to a few points gleaned in Race 2 (8th). Mato Homola follows him by five lengths, ahead of 2019 WTCR champion Norbert Michelisz. Fourth then fifth, Yann Ehrlacher saves the furniture with fourth place in the general classification.
