The EuroNascar Esports Series launched on the iRacing game at the end of April

See you from April 21 every Tuesday evening for a new race. The full calendar includes eight rounds, in which the teams and drivers actually involved in the series organized by Team FJ will be able to participate.

The virtual season will begin on April 21 at 20 p.m. with a practice round on the Daytona road course, an emblematic circuit of the meeting of American and European automotive cultures. This demonstration event will be followed the following week on April 28 at the same time by the first meeting of the championship contested on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, host of the traditional NWES American Speedfest.

Throughout the calendar we will find a mix of official NWES circuits, such as Brands Hatch and Zolder, but also legendary circuits of the NASCAR American such as Watkins Glen, the Roval of Charlotte or the road of Indianapolis.

“We have been interested in e-racing for a long time; the problem was in the management of priorities: we hardly had enough time to give him, Explain Jérôme Galpin, President of the NWES. Now, we can say that it’s the right time! Like everyone else, we have a lot of fans and drivers who are stuck at home. We are lucky, with e-Racing, to have one of the simulators closest to reality, and we have developed a good connection with them since we have wanted to do something together for a while. Now it's underway: drivers will be able to train and fans will be able to follow their performances.

The Euro Nascar e-sport series will pit the usual Whelen drivers against each other, with a very real stake because they will actually score points for the 2020 Nascar Whelen Teams championship. Around thirty drivers have already confirmed their participation, including former champions like Ander Vilarino or Alon Day. We are also working to have distinguished guests on certain events. There will be a broadcast on YouTube and our Facebook page, with comments from guests who will talk about Nascar.

The circuits visited will be diverse; the idea is to take the available tracks where we usually race, like Brands Hatch and Zolder, and to do a mix with American circuits like Watkins Glen or the Charlotte Roval. We remain in the spirit of “road” events, which the drivers will tackle with the Nascar Cup Series cars. There should be between 30 and 35 cars on the track. The meeting was set every Tuesday evening, at 20 p.m.

Weekends are already generally quite busy, Tuesday offers a slot that we hope to establish over the months and years to come. The debut is for April 21, where a dress rehearsal event will be organized, a bit like what Nascar does before the Daytona 500. And we will really launch the season the following Tuesday with Brands Hatch. We will race like this until the beginning of June, with seven rounds on the program, which should take us to the theoretical start of the season on the track, in Most, in the Czech Republic.”
