Lando Norris wins the Indycar Challenge in Austin

Lando Norris distinguished himself in the virtual test of theIndycar Challenge in Austin, the 5th event of the virtual championship based on iRacing, winning with panache ahead of his teammate Patricio O'Ward, the latter giving Arrow the double McLaren SP.

The Briton won by just over a second, but the fight for first place was even more closely fought. If the pilot F1 started on pole, his race became complicated when he spun. He was only able to regain his lead position on lap 29 when Felix Rosenqvist (Chip Ganassi Racing) made the same mistake. The double winner of the Macau GP finally completed the podium.

“It wasn’t easy at all, which is my fault with this spin during my second stint, commented Lando Norris. It was a tense race, especially with Pato coming back at me with his new tires towards the end. I didn't think I would come back to the front of the race. I got a good old message from my engineer who motivated me on the radio and it worked. »

Scott McLaughlin (Team Penske) remains very efficient. Already a winner in the virtual championship, the double Supercars champion took 4th place ahead of Santino Ferrucii (SealMaster).

The French were further behind on the Austin road route. simon pagenaud (Team Penske) finished 14th while Sébastien Bourdais (Tresiba) finished in 24th position. Sage Karam (DRR WIX Filters) was the only one to drop out of the 33 participants.
