Esports races to follow live video this week

Note: live videos will be added a few minutes before the start of the broadcast

24 Hours of Le Mans virtual

This will be one of the most important events in the young history of Simracing. If events contested over a double clock are legion on video games, this is the first time that the 24 Hours of Le Mans has officially transposed its legendary race into Esports.

The 50 crews will play on rFactor 2, the only game capable of simulating a day/night transition, climatic hazards, damage and also half a hundred cars. Two categories will be in the running: the Oreca 07 in LM P2 and the GTE (Porsche, Ferrari, Corvette, Aston Martin).

Six “real” winners of the 24 Hours of Le Mans are registered: Fernando Alonso, Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, Andre Lotterer, Neel Jani and Nick Tandy. simon pagenaud will be there as will two other winners of the Indianapolis 500 (Juan Pablo Montoya and Tony Kanaan).

In addition, there will be a certain scent of Formula 1 with the connection of Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Max Verstappen or Antonio Giovinazzi.

To reflect reality as closely as possible, the start of the event will be at 15 p.m. Saturday June 13, the official time of the original 24 Hours. Qualifying will take place from 18:15 p.m. to 18:55 p.m.

Esports WTCR Championship

While waiting for the start of the 2020 season in mid-September, the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) invites its drivers to compete virtually.

Based on the RaceRoom game, the Esports WTCR pre-season championship will take place over 12 races, spread over six tracks from Saturday June 14 at 15:15 p.m. (live on Eurosport, rebroadcast on social networks). The Austrian Salzburgring track will be the first place visited, like the real calendar.

The pilots (including three Frenchmen, Yvan Muller, Yann Ehrlacher and Aurélien Comte) will each wear a webcam so that the TV program is dynamic, in addition to the usual broadcast. In total, 30 people will be mobilized just for the technical part of the lives!

Supercars All Stars Eseries

Launched during confinement, the Australian competition comes to an end on Wednesday June 10 at the end of the morning. Two long distance races (30 minutes) will decide between Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen, on the Oran Park and Bathurst circuits.

150 points will be up for grabs while Shane van Gisbergen's advantage is only 78 points over the outgoing double champion.

For the occasion, young retiree Craig Lowndes will join the peloton alongside the winner of the 1 Bathurst 000K, Joao Webb.
