Entered in the Silver category, Nils Naujoks (McLaren 720S GT3 – G2 Esports) won the grand final of the SRO E-Sport GT Series, contested on the Assetto Corsa Competizione simulation, with the Suzuka circuit as the scene of this final confrontation.
Starting from pole position, it was Mikhail Statsenko (Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo – GTWR Racing) who led the race during its first hour, constantly under pressure from Amir Hosseini (Mercedes-AMG GT3 – Racing Line Motorsport) and Enzo Bonito (Ferrari 488 GT3 – FDA Esports Team).
Behind, numerous clashes enlivened the peloton, the most notable of which took place twenty minutes after the start. A collision in the final chicane between Hosseini and Silver Series champion Jesus Sicilia (Aston Martin Vantage GT3 – TripleA Esports), ended with a 10-second stop&go penalty for the first and a fall to the bottom of the ranking for the second.
Discreet 6th during most of the start of the race, Naujoks extended his first stint to take the lead of the race in front of the poleman with 50 minutes to go. The McLaren driver never worried again after that and won by more than 6 seconds.
Behind him, Sicilia, coming from afar, dropped Statsenko from the outside in the last chicane six minutes from the end before the early race leader spun in the 130R, only finishing 6th. . Jan-Marcel Dietrich (Porsche 911 GT3 R – ROWE Racing) finally completed the podium.
