Signatech-Alpine reveals its crew for the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans

The first edition of the virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 13-14) continues to attract major players in theEndurance. A few minutes after Porsche, Signatech-Alpine has revealed its crew for the event contested on the rFactor 2 PC simulation.

The French team will compete in the LM P2 class event with an Oreca 07. The three drivers present behind the wheel in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) this season will be brought together, namely the French Thomas Laurent and Pierre Ragues as well as the Brazilian Andre negrao

This trio will be supported by the French Nicolas Longuet, member of Team Vitality and team winner of the F1 Esports Series 2019. “For more than ten years, we have been exploring different bridges between motorsport and Esport and these 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtuelles promises to be a truly exceptional event, explains Philippe Sinault, Team Principal at Signatech-Alpine.

As with any new project, we entered into preseason preparations by reviewing our skills and analyzing in detail the necessary equipment and the new issues brought by this type of competition. Our quartet will thus benefit from a complete system with a main team, an official operations engineer and a data engineer in support. They will take turns to meet all the challenges of an event which will be just as physically and psychologically difficult as the real one.

From a sporting point of view, we are approaching this race like all the others by having theambition to appear well since it potentially presages part of the future in motorsport while offering a dress rehearsal for the 24 Hours of Le Mans next September... The difference is that we will all be on an equal footing with the same equipment and the same ambitions at the start. May the best win! »

Regis Fricotté, sales and competition director ofAlpine, sees it as a great opportunity to reach a different target for Endurance enthusiasts. “After the success ofAlpine Racing Challenge organized on Gran Turismo at the beginning of the month, the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans offers us a new opportunity to address a large audience while positioning the brand Alpine like a real competitor in the world of Esport.

With its extremely realistic format, this event promises to be the ideal showcase to demonstrate the know-how of the Signatech team-Alpine and the talent of our drivers while honoring the partners supporting us in the WEC.

We also thank Renault Vitality for its collaboration allowing us to rely on the synergies of the Renault Group around motorsport and Esport, two worlds inseparable from its DNA. While waiting for the debates to resume on the circuits this summer, we will therefore follow this event carefully, hoping to all add a new line to the list of winners.Alpine at the 24 Hours of Le Mans! »
