The world of video games often has surprises in store for us! After purchasing Slightly Mad Studios (the development studio for the Project Cars series) this year, Codemasters is preparing to join Take-Two Intercative for the modest sum of 814 million euros. The signing should be effective in the first quarter of 2011, which will make Take-Two a must in the world of cash register games.
Remember that Codemasters is at the origin of Colin McRae Rally, released in 1998 on PlayStation 1. It was the first racing game where you were alone on the track to attack the clock, the antithesis of what the series could offer V-Rally at the time. In the hearts of virtual motorsport lovers, Codemasters is therefore a must with his F1 license but also and above all with Dirt Rally 2.0, the reference in terms of rally pure and hard.
For your information, know that from 2023 the license WRC (the official game of the World Rally Championship) will also be in the hands of Codemasters and therefore 2K Games. But that's not all, Codemasters is also the Dirt series with the fifth part available for a few days on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox series X/S. And finally the Project Cars series.
Let's also hope that 2K Games saves Project Cars as the last episode (Project Cars 3) is a real disaster. Whatever happens, a new page is turning and we are firmly awaiting the arrival of the American giant in the world of virtual racing.
