Timmy Hansen maintained his number 1 status during the virtual World RX Esports Championship. Frenchman Killian Dall'olmo won the category reserved for simracers.

Timmy Hansen World RX Esports Champion

Whether in the virtual or real world, the reference of the World Championship of rallycross (World RX) is Timmy Hansen. The Swede, winner of the 2019 season, won the Esports championship reserved for professional drivers this Sunday July 12.

 

 

" That feels good, admitted the resident of the Hansen family team. It was a very long off-season and being able to ride Esports was a great way to stay sharp and in shape. 

We had some exciting virtual rallycross races. We’re going to celebrate before focusing on the “real” 2020 campaign.” Timmy Hansen congratulates the winner of the final round, contested on the Dirt Rally 2.0 video game, Australian Supercars driver Shane van Gisbergen. 

“Shane was the star of the competition thanks to his burst of speed. » Indeed, the general classification is marked by the presence of two track riders: Tom Blomqvist (2nd, official BMW Motorsport driver) and Shane van Gisbergen (3rd). 

The first Frenchman classified in the final organized on the Killarney circuit (South Africa) is Jonathan Pailler (Peugeot ) in fifth place. 

The category reserved for gamers was clearly dominated by the Dall'olmo family. Killian won the final and the Sim Championship at the same time, in front of his brother Quentin. The two representatives of the SET Esports team were the most consistent over the four rounds. Killian Dall'olmo, world rallycross champion on Dirt Rally 2.0, even took part in three of the four finals!
