The victory of Williams Esports at the last virtual 24 Hours of Daytona clearly did not leave its opponents with good memories. Indeed, the English team had been in the crosshairs of many competitors. The reproaches ? A " unacceptable behavior » from certain drivers of the British team who had nevertheless won the general classification with a BMW LMDh and finished 3e in GT with a Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The first criticism that was made of Williams Esports was the way in which pole position was acquired. In the race, it was the GT cars that posed a problem. The English are accused of having used the second, who had already lost several laps, strategically in order to waste time for their opponents, even ignoring blue flags.

An investigation was then launched and it determined that “ some team members broke the rules of behavior. » Faced with this situation, Williams Esports wanted to publicly apologize for the offenses of its drivers.

« We wholeheartedly apologize for this, both to our competitors and the wider Esports communitycan we read. We would also like to clarify that the message posted on social media by one of our team members was not authorized and does not reflect the values ​​of Williams Esports. These opinions do not reflect the team's position and have since been removed.

We believe in fair racing and competing to win, but it must be done with integrity and in the spirit that is part of our DNA. We are committed to mentoring and training our drivers and team, helping them balance the demands of intense competition with our values. It is crucial to have strong and consistent regulation across all sports."

Williams Esports, however, has not revealed the identity of the drivers involved in this matter and has not specified whether sanctions will be applied to those who have violated the regulations.
