Announced about the departure of the BJR team last month, Nick Percat has found a new base. The Australian will ride for WAU from 2022, and for several seasons. He arrives to replace Bryce Fullwood, who will go the opposite way. Nick Percat will be behind the wheel of the #2 WAU. As a reminder, it’s a return to basics for the man who started in the championship in 2010 with Walkinshaw Racing.

“I'm extremely excited and grateful to be joining WAU,” enthuses the Bathurst 1000 alum. “Having been with the Walkinshaw family during my junior years in Formula Ford and Super2, this is where I feel at home. I have dreamed of having my name next to the number 2 since I was very young.”

The Australian will have Chaz Mostert as his teammate, also a former winner of the Bathurst 1000 in 2014. An “exciting” association for Zak Brown, one of the team's co-owners. “It’s fantastic to have Nick rejoining the team for 2022 and beyond. He is a fantastic driver who strengthens our line-up, as we strive to continually progress up the grid. I have no doubt that Nick and Chaz will constantly push each other to continue to improve.”
