Even when the night shines and the temperatures drop on an Australian Supercars circuit, tire management remains essential to the smooth running of a race. Anton De Pasquale (Ford) learned this the hard way this Saturday April 30 during the first race of the Perth SuperNight.
The Dick Johnson Racing resident, who started from pole position on the winding circuit in eastern Australia, never had a comfortable lead over Cameron Waters (Ford) and Shane van Gisbergen (Holden).
However, the championship leader was able to take his tires on a greater number of laps compared to his two opponents. On fresher tires for 15 laps, the double champion of the discipline was able to pounce on the Ford Mustang GT in the last five laps to finally overtake Anton De Pasquale:

Shane van Gisbergen thus gives Holden his 600th victory in Supercars.
