DTM – Q1: Pole for Timo Glock, Duval 6th
Opportunity, the BMWs are on the Zandvoort track by deciding to set off at the start of the session. Timo Glock set the best time in 1'27''823 on the Dutch track ahead of his teammates Augusto Farfus, Marco Wittmann and Maxime Martin.
Qualifying was disrupted at the end of the session by the onset of rain, compromising the chances of the drivers who started later. Thus, René Rast carries the best Audi in 5e position in front Loïc duval who signs the best performance of his season and confirms his good start to the weekend. Tom Blomqvist (BMW) is 7e in front of the first Mercedes by Gary Paffett only 8e half a second from the Swiss.
Mike Rockenfeller and Mattias Ekström completed the top 10 for Audi in qualifying which was auspicious for BMW but disastrous for Mercedes.
