Thomas Preining's 2024 sporting year will mainly revolve around DTM. Crowned in 2023 for the first time in the German touring championship, the Austrian has returned for a new campaign as confirmed Porsche on the sidelines of the Night of Champions this weekend.
Unsurprisingly, the plan will be identical to that of this year with a new exercise contested with Manthey Racing. Title holder, the Austrian aims to retain his crown as he indicated on his social networks with the message “ Mission, defense of the DTM title in 2024."
It now remains to be seen whether this will be Thomas Preining's only program next season. Recently Porsche did not rule out the possibility of also placing it in WEC. This could be done without problem since the two championships have no clash of dates. Thus, the native of Linz is still in the running for a seat in LMGT3.
While Porsche will enter two 911 GT3 R with Manthey Racing, two places are still available in the No. 91 in which only Richard Lietz has been confirmed for the moment. The Hypercar track, despite its test during the Rookie Test in Bahrain at the beginning of November, is definitively ruled out, at least in an official 963 since the 6 drivers were confirmed during the publication of the list of entrants at the start of the week. To see if he can bounce back or not in a client team in the premier category.
