DTM – C1: Wickens’ good move

Robert Wickens brought a quadruplet Mercedes during Race 1 of DTM in Moscow (Russia) contested on a wet track. The Canadian took the advantage over pole sitter Gary Paffett on the first lap before the Briton was also overtaken by his compatriot Paul di Resta.

The positions in the top three no longer changed until the checkered flag. By winning with around ten seconds in advance, Robert Wickens took control of the Championship for three points ahead of Marco Wittmann (BMW) who only finished in 19th place after starting from 20th position.

Maximilian Götz retained his fourth place to give Mercedes a quadruple by preceding Mattias Ekström, first Audi driver. Maxime Martin also did not move up the hierarchy and placed the first BMW in sixth position, preceding the Audis of Jamie Green, Edoardo Mortara and Timo Scheider.

Felix Rosenqvist (Mercedes) makes a promising debut in the DTM. The replacement ofEsteban Ocon won his first point at the end of his first start in the discipline.
