Development work continues for the Ferrari 296 GT3. After Mugello with Davide Rigoni and Miguel Molina last August, the Maranello mount which will replace the 488 GT3 Evo was entitled to a new test phase this time near Portimão, a circuit “ well adapted » for any series of tests « dynamic » thanks to its long straight line and technical curves.

As in Mugello, Davide Rigon and Miguel Molina once again took the wheel of the Ferrari 296 GT3 but this time were joined by two other factory drivers, Alessandro Pier Guidi and Daniel Serra. In the Algarve, the changing weather allowed the builder to work in a variety of conditions from dry to wet, gathering valuable data for the final part of the development.

« We concluded three days of positive testing, in which we carried out the activities that had been planned, collecting a lot of data that we will now be able to analyze, in order to optimize the route following the program and direction that we have defined, » said Daniel Serra.

The Maranello teams now have 4 months left to finalize the development of the Ferrari 296 GT3, whose first appearance in competition is planned for the 24 2023 Hours of Daytona (January 26 to 29).
