Thomas Merafina: “A lot of fun and work”

Thomas Merafina is one of the competitors entered this season with his father, Matteo, his brother and Pierre Couasnon in the No. 62 / © Lamera Cup

«Pierre is the fastest of our quartet, explains our interlocutor, who is aboard the No. 62. Me, in general, I am just below my brother's times (Matteo, Editor's note). Overall, we're doing pretty well. ».

Since the beginning of this year, Thomas has worn two hats: that of pilot and manager of the organization. At 22, the young man's racing weekends are busy.

«Driving this car is pure pleasure. I enjoy every lap. Of course, I would like to climb the ranks and find myself, one day, in GT3. But it's not an obsession or a career plan.

Once out of the car, I resume my role as GO. I must respond to all requests from drivers and their teams.

It's normal. We must listen to them. Especially when a car has major mechanical problems. The goal is that everyone can have satisfactory track time.

In the Nogaro paddock, there are seven of them working for the well-being of the Lamera Cup competitors. In the office during the week, there are two permanent staff and two colleagues who work alternately to ensure the success of the Lamera Cup. »
