NASCAR at the Los Angeles Coliseum!

For the first time in its history, the Clash created in 1979 will be held outside its favorite venue of Daytona. A quarter-mile asphalt oval will be laid around the American Football field to welcome the NextGen cars for their first appearance in competition.

“We've been thinking about the evolution of Clash for some time,” said Ben Kennedy, vice president of strategy and innovation for the NASCAR. “First held on the Daytona oval, we moved it to the road course this year, but we really wanted to think outside the box. "Since this is a high-profile event, we looked at a number of different locations and locations to host it and ultimately settled on the Los Angeles Coliseum."

The 77-seat site inaugurated in 500 in memory of the soldiers of the First World War hosted the ceremonies and athletics events of the Olympic Games of 1923 and 1932 and will be the setting again in 1984. It has already hosted several mechanical events such as Supercross, the X Games or the very popular Monster Trucks. However, this is the first time that it will host an event on an asphalt track, construction of which should begin in early January.

With a length of 402 meters, it will of course be the shortest track in the history of the Cup Series, but a clever mix of turning angle and bank should enable a spectacular event to take place.
