Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan's Team 23XI Racing has announced the entry of a third car into the Daytona 500 for Travis Pastrana alongside team regular drivers Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick.
Four-time United States Champion Rally from 2006 to 2009 and 11-time X Games winner on 2 and 4 wheels, Pastrana has touched just about everything that can run on dirt or asphalt, from Motocross to Rallying, including Monster Truck or GT. In 2012, he competed alongside Michael Waltrip in the 24 2012 Hours of Daytona at the wheel of a Ferrari and participated 3 times in the Race of Champions for the USA team in 2003, 2006 and 2007.

If at first all attention had been turned to Carl Edwards, the rumor launched by our always well-informed colleagues from The Athletic turned out to be correct. With 28 career victories and two runner-up titles in 2008 and 2011, Carl Edwards nevertheless had a great pedigree and his friendship with Hamlin made him a great candidate. The problem is that Edwards since his retirement in 2016 has regularly denied any desire to return, even occasionally.
The third Toyota The Team's Camry will therefore be attributed to the fanciful extreme sports specialist Travis Pastrana. The inventor of the double backflp in motocross, having now increased the record to 8 rotations, converted into a rallycross and hill climb, caused a sensation at the end of 2022 with a wild gymkhana at the wheel of his 1983 Subaru GL station wagon, renamed the “Family Huckster”.

Although he will make his big debut in the Cup Series on this occasion, Pastrana is by no means a beginner in NASCAR with 42 starts in the Xfinity Series, the second division of the discipline, including a full season in 2013. With four top 10s is a pole position, Pastrana had proven his worth behind the wheel
Pastrana will wear race number 67 and will have to pass the qualifying box, not being entered for the season. One thing is certain, the offensive Red Bull continues in NASCAR!
