La Ferrari 296 GT3 completed his first laps on the Fiorano circuit. The outgoing champion of the LMGTE Pro category of WEC, Alessandro Pier Guidi, and the usual test pilot of the firm Maranello, Andrea Bertolini, had the pleasure of being the first to test the future of the Prancing Horse in Grand Touring competitions.

“I am delighted with how the two days of testing went here in Fiorano, rejoiced Alessandro Pier Guidi. The Ferrari 296 GT3 proved to be a delightful and precise car to drive. Obviously, at this stage the work has focused on systems testing and essential reliability, and we are happy with the data we have collected. »

“I can't hide the fact that these two days have been very exciting because the expectations are high for this car, added Andrea Bertoloni, known for having driven almost all of the Italian brand's cars in tests. From the earliest stages of development, it is crucial to ensure that the car can meet the needs of the professionals and amateur drivers who will compete against it. »

Assembled in Signes by Oreca, this new GT3 will have the difficult task of succeeding the very prolific 2023 from 488. “ We've already received a lot of praise for the car, Antonello Coletta, director of Ferrari's sporting activities in GT, told us on the sidelines of the 1000 Miles of Sebring, first round of the 2022 WEC season. However, the most important thing is that it goes quickly. We think we've done a good job on this. » The Italian manufacturer is already spoiled for choice when it comes to using this car in competition, having received a number of requests from its usual customers (AF Corse, Risi Competizione, Kessel Racing, etc.) or others not yet developing in Ferrari.
